Checkin' In
Tue, Aug. 28 2007
Hey Everybody, It's been awhile since I haunted this space. Want you to know things are going good. I've been on the road making connections and building relationships to get my music out there. Lots of cool stuff is falling into place and I hope to check in here more frequently to keep you updated. Currently, I have two cool shows coming up in my home-base of Pittsburgh: Opening up for the very talented Clark Slater and his band on Friday, August 24th, 7pm at Club Cafe, one of the best listening rooms in the region. This will be a great show and I would really love to see my burgh friends and fans come out. You will dig Clark Slater's music, plus he has a great band featuring the amazing Dave Brown on lead. Then on Friday Sept 7th at 4pm, I kickoff the music for "A Fair in the Park" a three day celebration of art and music in Mellon Park. It's a great event to bring the entire family to, and it's all FREE! So I hope you'll come and show me some love...I play for an hour, followed by the iconic Joe Grushecky. I also wanted to make sure you check out my NIMBIT music player which includes lots of new photos, discography, bio and even a link for you to sign-up for my mailing list. Please send me a message or leave me a comment and let me know what you think....I always love hearing from all of you! Till next time... Todd
Todd Adleff Holds Benefit/CD Release Party at Hard Rock Cafe ~ It's All About Soul...
Mon, Apr. 16 2007
Why would Pittsburgh artist Todd Adleff celebrate the release of his new CD "Plan B" as a benefit for an organization that fights hunger? WHY indeed! WHY, an acronym for World Hunger Year, is a charity founded by the late great Harry Chapin. Todd's special guest for his release party is none other than Harry's daughter Jen Chapin, a singer-songwriter from New York City, who chairs the WHY board of directors. The Todd Adleff CD Release Party is slated for Thursday, May 17 at 8pm at the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square. For Adleff, it was an opportunity to make his CD release more than a party. "It makes my event more meaningful by helping such a worthy organization. Plus, I'm really excited to be joined by the very talented Jen Chapin. This will be a great show!" Todd Adleff achieved a modicum of success as part of a country/rock ban called "2 of a Kynd" in the late nineties, touring nationally in support of their CD "Rockin' the Country." When the band broke up, Adleff turned his talents to the other side of the music business, founding his own record label and promotion company in New York. In 2005, he moved back to Pittsburgh and toured as a solo artist for most of 2006, while he worked on his new release. His sound is a unique blend of southern rock and soulful R & B, and he has been compared to such diverse artists as Elton John, Van Morrison and Rob Thomas. For the CD release, he will be performing with a full band. Jen Chapin's sound is a funky, jazzy soulful blend and her voice has been described as Billie Holiday-esque. Chapin will be performing as part of a trio ensemble with Stephan Crump on acoustic bass and Jamie Fox on guitar. Chapin's new release "Ready" has garnered considerable praise. "I'm looking forward to returning to Pittsburgh, and especially happy the show will benefit WHY." Hard Rock International has for many years shown strong support to WHY, including joining forces with Sony/BMG to release a compilation CD called "SERVE" to benefit the organization. The disk features songs by Springsteen, Modest Mouse,The Hold Steady, Aerosmith and more. On June 11 the Hard Rock will be one of this year's honorees at the 2007 WHY Chapin awards in New York City. According to their website (www.worldhungeryear.org) WHY "is a leading advocate for innovative, community-based solutions to hunger and poverty. WHY challenges society to confront these problems by advancing models that create self-reliance, economic justice, and equal access to nutritious and affordable food." Tickets for the Todd Adleff CD Release are $7 and are available at the Hard Rock Cafe or by calling TR Creative Services at 412-977-6935. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

Sat, Aug. 19 2006
Todd has been selected as a Radio Indy Gold Artist for the songs A Thousand Times and Goodbye. These songs will be in rotation on radioindy.com. Hear's what they had to say:

We screen thousands of songs by indie artists and name the best artists, RadioIndy.com Gold Artists. Congratulations, we reviewed your music and have determined that you are a RadioIndy.com Gold Artist! Listeners of our adult rock station who enjoy Rob Thomas and Del Amitri will enjoy your music. Of the songs we reviewed, we especially enjoyed A Thousand Times Before and Goodbye. Excellent songwriting, vocals, and musicianship. Cool guitar riff and nice build to 2-part harmony, hook-filled chorus with tight break in A Thousand Times. Catchy bridge in song as well.
